The Mariana Trench

After going to a depth of two hundred meters or about six hundred and fifty feet from the surface of the sea, a different world was seen which descended into the abyssal plain. Until today it was believed that the abyss extends to a depth of six thousand meters or about nineteen thousand six hundred and eighty five feet. But today that perception has changed.
